"A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words. A Video Tells the Whole Story"
Randy Lennon, Television and Radio Personality
I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working on several video projects with Richard. I’ve been in and out of the television business as an executive producer, producer, director, on-camera talent, production company owner, and writer for over 40 years. I’ve worked with hundreds of great people over the years and I rate Richard among the best! He is quite capable as a shooter and editor AND most importantly he has a fantastic attitude and calm, comfortable approach to the work. Great talent and wonderful guy!
Vic Lebouthillier, President, The Resilient Mind
Richard Knight has been our video production arm for over 7 years. The work he provides has been the full scope beginning with creating the concepts to writing scripts, directing and editing the final content. In some cases Richard has also acted for us and recruited actors. We have been extremely pleased with the level of service, professionalism and creativity Richard has provided at great rates.
Luke Stack, Executive Director, The Society Hope and Councillor, The City of Kelowna
I had the pleasure of working with Richard Knight in developing a documentary video called 'Coming Home'. This was quite an ambitious project and took a year to film and edit. Richard invested many long hours in editing this film. He went above the call of duty to ensure that the film was an effective tool for the Society.
The film was well received when it was screened in Vancouver at the annual BC Non-profit Housing Conference in 2008. The Society of Hope still uses this film as an educational tool for new Board members and people that are interested in developing affordable housing.
Alexandra Babbel, Artistic and Managing Director, Opera Kelowna
I write this as testimonial to the work of Richard Knight. Mr. Knight displays an attitude and aptitude to be emulated by all others in the industry. He has produced numerous videos for me over the years.
He is reliable, organized and punctual. I find his work to be of high quality. I recommend him for future projects.
Lorna Paterson, Former Artistic Director of Kelowna Community Music School
Richard worked with me from the beginning to the completion of the video production. He is thoroughly professional, punctual and is really a joy to work with. Richard did a lot of planning and gathering of information, to understand what we do and what we stand for at the Kelowna Community Music School. I was the narrator of the KCMS video and Richard was able to guide me through my speaking parts, helping me to focus on important points and offering tips from colours to wear to pausing at sentence endings.
His nature is kind and reassuring, which put me at ease when I was being recorded. Richard’s creative magic ties together all of the recorded material, weaving it all into a unified whole. Our school was extremely pleased with the outcome of this video, the positive comments from viewers, and the high quality, creative work of Richard Knight.
Tracy Ross, Founder and Artistic Director, Bumbershoot Children's Theatre
Richard Knight has been creating a wonderful video archives for Bumbershoot Children's Theatre for several years now. Having excellent quality memento's and capturing our history and development has been an invaluable gift.
It can be challenging to video theatre and maintain the energy that exists within these live performances, and yet Richard always seems to find a way to highlight the integrity and uniqueness of each production. We like to provide him with some wonderful challenges, like having a race track that goes around and around the audience, or a pirate ship that is in the middle with audience on either side, we put 60 young people on stage with and without microphones, and Richard always finds a way to capture the performance and the action. He is professional and we always have the opportunity to see the video within a week's time.
Having an archival library for our Charitable organization, allows us to show sponsors and granting agencies the kind of impact that we are able to create in our community. This would not be possible without the generosity and talent of Richard Knight. The quality of his work represents our live theatrical performances in the best possible way. We are ever grateful.
John McMahon, Principal, George Pringle Elementary School
I am presently working at George Pringle Elementary School in West Kelowna and recently had the pleasure of working with Mr. Richard Knight of KnightKnight Productions and have been extremely happy with the project he completed for our school. Richard was charged with the task of completing a video to share the school profile with our parents and community. He was highly skilled in collaborating and was attentive to our needs as a school community. Richard is an excellent communicator and worked closely with myself and my staff to ensure they were involved in the process from start to finish. He is punctual and professional and I have no hesitation in recommending him to any organization or individual interested in producing a high quality video.
Richard's video is on our school website and has received positive reviews from all parents who have viewed his work. Recently our school district highlighted the film at a Superintendent's meeting. I am thankful for Richard's expertise and thrilled with the positive outcomes that have resulted since the video was made public. We have recently increased our enrolment and several of our new enrolling families have commented on how they were impressed with the video on our website.
Sharon Stinn, Office Manager, Ear Gear Enterprises Inc.
We enjoyed working with Richard Knight on some videos for Ear Gear. He created over 20 short videos to promote our product. His angle, zooming and panning shots were perfect and we were able to display our products informatively. Just what we wanted! We found Richard to be very professional, patient, and efficient and will definitely use his services again in the future. Thank you Richard!
Genevieve Hawtree, Teacher, George Pringle Elementary School
Working with Richard was very easy. He made me feel very comfortable throughout the process. The finished product was wonderful, he made us look and sound great.
Gill Goadby, Director/Secretary Summer Arts Scene for Youth (SASFY)
My first involvement with Richard Knight was in the production of a promotional video for Summer Art Scene for Youth (SASFY). I was very impressed with the whole procedure and of course, the eventual end product which is still an integral part of the SASFY website and has had many 'hits'.
From inception of the 'germ of an idea' through the actual filming to production of the video itself, Richard’s professionalism, courtesy and ability to see the big picture and put all participants at ease was second to none.
The video was produced according to schedule and in a timely fashion. In addition, his ideas, knowledge of technical facilities, legal & procedural matters to be followed as well as his excellent eye for layout and 'what will look good on the screen', was second to none.
I have since had experience of Richard’s work on a number of other occasions and have seen him first hand working with young people where he has the amazing knack of making the whole experience 'fun' for them and still ending up with a professional product whether it be video or website design.
I would have no hesitation in urging you to tap into Richard’s wealth of knowledge and experience for your next video or website overhaul!
Claudia Kargl, President and Artistic Director, Summer Arts Scene for Youth (SASFY)
Richard Knight has a flair for artistic expression, creativity and original design. His passion and multi- skills and talents are reflected in his video production. As President & Artistic Director of Summer Arts Scene For Youth in Central Okanagan Society (SASFY) and its annual 6 day summer arts school workshops program, it was fortunate and a positive experience to have Richard provide our non –profit arts organization with his professional media expertise.
Richard created, designed and developed the 'Arts in Bloom' DVD for our Gala Concert fundraising event, produced an excellent promotional DVD for our SASFY website and incorporated new ideas to formulate a 'refreshed and revitalized' look to our pre-existing website that has been a great hit as our vital marketing tool.
All production assignments continually met targeted deadlines. Richard enjoys being involved in the creative process and delivers upon request each time a top notch quality product that provides effective and desired impact.
Wendy Robertson, Former Executive Director, Kelowna Community Music School
From the beginning of the project Richard understood our goals for creating a promo video and worked with us to develop a very professional product. He was on time and on budget which as a not-for-profit organization we appreciated. This video is on our web site and has been very well received. We are proud to use this promo video in the community because Richard so skillfully captured the essence of the school.
Anne Schroeder, NHT Productions
I was very pleased with the Video Richard did for my artist Cynthia Leigh-Ann, he and his assistant, Santa Tom Kliner from Sleighrider Media, laid everything out and had planned to use several locations to enhance the shoot.
It was also very pleasing to us that they included us in the process with discussions and suggestions as to what we wanted and expected. They kept to a strict timetable with the settings and shoots as the weather patterns kept changing. Even with the location changes their professionalism and caring mannerism never wavered.
We have been able to utilize this video for several promotions as well as getting great exposure on the net via the numbers of plays by fans and promoters. We hit over 5,000 plays. We are planning another video for Cynthia’s new single “What You Don’t Know” in December. I am sure we will be just as happy and satisfied with the results. We would be pleased to refer KnightKnight Productions to our colleagues and friends.
Ken Fix, Kelowna-Kasugai Sister City Association
At the Asian Heritage Month 2012 Opening ceremonies, Richard used his technological skills and professionalism to capture the essence of our performance through hours of collaborative editing, offering different angles to enhance the production. It turned out fantastic. Thank you Richard for all of your assistance.
Kim Foreman, Theatre Kelowna
KnightKnight Productions was called in to film Theatre Kelowna Society's production of Sentimental Journey - a 1940s Radio Show in October, 2013. As the writer and director of the show, I was concerned that our effort be preserved in a professional format. I'm happy to say that I was absolutely delighted with the result!
Richard Knight arrived at our show early, set up quickly and was completely unobtrusive to our audience while he filmed the two act show. Filming a live theatre show isn't easy - there are many different camera shots required (full stage shots, close ups, mid-range shots) to fully document the theatre experience. I am pleased to say that Richard truly captured our show in the best possible way. The quality of the filming was absolutely excellent, the sound was completely clear and he had our entire show uploaded to YouTube within days of filming which the cast was absolutely delighted to see. (There is nothing worse than waiting for weeks or months to see a recording of a show as the momentum gets completely lost).
We now have a beautifully recorded document for our archives as well as something we can forward on to loved ones who were unable to see the production. I would not hesitate to recommend KnightKnight Productions. Richard is friendly, reliable and professional and I plan to use his services again for my next show. Many thanks for making our Sentimental Journey one we can experience again and again!
